There is an upcoming "any way 5k" event near me. It invites any method of unmotorized travel to complete this noncompetitive event. I like one-off stuff like is, but I am not hitting on any creative methods. I don't unicycle or stilt walk. Any thoughts? I might involve the kids if we can figure out something neat.

First thought that came to my head:

Mine cart trollies.  I am not sure if they exist in real life, but cartoons showed people moving by pumping up an down on the trolly lever.

That would be perfect, since the event is at an amusement park at the edge of the cal region of PA and has a small mining museum on site.

Win. I'd imagine your thighs/quads would be TOAST after 5k.

Or, what about using a mechanic's creeper and scooting there on your back (need a spotter!)

Unicycle

There's a guy who mountain unicycles at the the state park near my house. I have no idea how, but he clears logs, climbs, clears rock gardens, mud. Better than me with two wheels. He's unreal to watch.

I did just go paleo....... And that is the kind of thing I could make from my other hobby, large scale balloon twisting. So far this may be the one to beat. I would be just carrying it, the way. i'd make it. But I do plan to do a st pat's weekend 5k with the family where there is a costume contest. We'll be in giant balloon lephrechaun hats. I could make a name as that crazy balloon running guy.

This is too much fun to be exercise.
