Has anyone tried the Reload Energy Gel ?

I had this at a race last year and really liked it, they use Figs and other natural ingredients for the gel. Good taste, a little grainy from the figs, otherwise fine.

My favorite was GU mint chocolate, but now its a tie between their peanut butter flavor and the holiday peppermint stick one. I never used to like gels at all, but these 3 are fantastic. I think I like PB and the peppermint stick ones better than any actual food!

GU Espresso Love. It definitely helps when you love the taste so much that you're actually looking forward to your next gel shot...

For some longer bike rides, I've diluted a couple of GU Espresso Love in a gel bottle with a couple of shots of espresso. Easy to drink and love the taste!

I hated gels....but understood their benefit. So, I bought two of every flavor of every brand and forced them down on every run and ride. 2 mos later I'm now a big fan of the GU Roctane Blueberry Pomegranate.

I'm a firm believer that gu's chocolate outrage is god's gift to endurance athletes.  so. good.  I like several gu flavours and can tolerate several more, but out of all the flavours of any brand, the chocolate outrage wins hands down.

(My tummy doesn't like other gels when I'm running.  I've tried, I think, them all.  Gu is the only one that works while running, though others work well for biking.)

GU vanilla.  It's boring enough and it's not very sweet; I get very sweet- and flavor-sensitive after a few hours and everything tastes stronger.

If I want variety, then I mix in various berry and other type flavors.  I can't stand chocolate energy gels; beyond gross.

I liked GU Peanut Butter, until I bought a whole box and went for a 2 hour run with nothing but GU PB.  After the 3rd one, disgusting!  I can take a few along and alternate with vanilla.

Not a fan of the runny consistency of Powergels.  I like GU much better.

Danbones - 2013-02-22 5:11 PM Powerbar gels are much thinner in consistency than other gels I've tried. Give them a whirl.

+1.  Vanilla tastes like cake batter.  Love the rasberry cream too.  The consistency is why I like Powerbar.

I know the OP said they're not interested in the Powergels, but I gotta give this a x2. All the other brands are too thick, plus - green apple. BEST. FLAVOR. EVER. I literally buy them by the box during the training season.

GU: Peanut butter or Espresso

Hammer: Apple Cinnamon

For something more solid I use Honey Stinger waffles.  Lemon and chocolate are awesome.

I like the flavor and packacing of GUs, but found that it was too expensive to constantly buying them for my long runs and bikes (train with what you race with). Much better now using bulk malto in water bottles (I even use them on my long runs - I actually carry the water bottles in a Camelbak and skip the bladder since it's easier to clean the bottles. Works great for training AND racing and costs <$25 for 2+ years even if you're using it every single week!)
