Do not do sufferfest.  Continue doing everything else while us sufferlandrians continue to win the races.

Spinervals DVDs still work great for me - especially for workouts that I really prefer having "Coach Troy" giving you that incentive.

TrainerRoad workouts are also great.  I like the fact that I know how much wattage/effort I need to be doing at a specific duration/interval.  If you accurately assess your threshold/FTP, the workouts will be tough and efficient.  By the way, the workouts are listed on the website. If you don't need the power/wattage info and just go by RPE or speed, you can still do the workouts because most are set up as a warm-up, a main set of intervals, then cooldown.

I gave Sufferfest a try and it's ok. It's nice to have the video in conjunction with TrainerRoad but it's set-up a bit like a 'race' but for me, it seems to get old quick as I know when the attacks are going to be, etc.  At least for Spinervals, you know it'll be a set workout and good to have the audio encouragement.

Finally, you don't need anything else if you just want to do basic interval work:

3x10' with 1-4 min of rest (depending on how hard you are pushing) or 3x15' or 2x20'  (with warm-up and cooldown in between) are all basic workouts that will get you stronger on the trainer.  The workouts aren't complicated - it's doing them that's the challenge!
