Veteran 247 Irvine | Subject: RE: What running shoes do you wear? Just moved from Skechers GoRun to Newton Gravity...love them! Even though the drop change was just 4mm to 3mm, I still felt soreness in my calves for the first 4 to 6 runs. No problems now, and very happy with them! |

I am multi suportive and not real fussy , My primary shoes are usually NB 10 series 1082's right now and always have been, but I also run saucony triumph 9, asics 1260 series for the road and a variety of solomons, GTX, XT's, NB910'Gtx and brooks trail shoes for off roading. I usually have about 6 pairs in rotation at any given time depending on the season 3 road and 3 trail. If Its Neutral, has good cushioning, and comes in a wide width and fits my foot well, then I will usually give it a try. |

(No, not sponsored by them and never have been. Ironically, I have run for a few Nike-sponsored teams!) They're very durable, and seem to fit my feet and biomechanics (except the motion-control models). For the last year or so I've been running in the Grid Stratos 4, and Grid Speed for racing flats and soft-surface running. I have long, narrow feet with medium arches, and am pretty lightweight even by runner standards---I find that many other shoes tend to either be too wide, have too much arch support in the wrong places, or are too stiff for comfort; YMMV. |

I do like my Hoka Bondi's as well. It really has been a life saver for me (figuratively and not literally). I had been dealing with so many foot, achilles, and calf problems since late-2011/early-2012 that I had pretty much scrapped the idea of doing any long running. I spent plenty of time in the orthopedic doc's office last year. I tried all kinds of shoes, stretches, PT, whatever. Nothing seemed to work. Which stinks seeing that I only do HIM and IM distance races and "need" to do some long running. The Hoka's cleared up nearly all my issues. I would pay $500 a pair if I had to. |
