Comments:

The times are all unofficial but they are close. i started at the very back and the runners started out at a sprint. I didn't want to do that so I just ran a race pace for me and slowly I started picking some off, one at a time. When i got back and saw 8 minutes I was estatic.
What would you do differently?:

It went better than planned
Transition 1

Comments:

I had to run past my bike and went to my truck to use it as a block for the restroon. A lady was in the car next to me and I said excuse me but Ive got to go. This killed a lot of time. Then I ran back to my bike.

Comments:

The water bottle was bothersome but it kept my mind off being tired. I do need to ride more. This was the 1st time I've ridden my tri bike since October. I'm still a real newbie to this sport and turning is a big problem for me on the tri bike.
What would you do differently?:

Just train more but I was pretty happy w/ the ride.

This is the 1st run in a LONG time that my IT band didn't hurt at all. I was exhausted at the end and was so glad it was not a 10K
What would you do differently?:

I was happy

Warm down:

waited for wife to come in and cheered her on, loaded up the bikes.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

I just a newbie and old age..lol

Event comments:

This was a low key race for people to just go out, exercise and have fun. It was very well run and had a good time. I hope they have it next year.

Awsome race Karl.  Looks like you nailed the pacing and it's great that the IT stayed happy.  Doesn't look like age has gotten to you from where I sit.  Great race!

Yay, Karl! What in the tarnation is a "noseeum"? I'm glad your IT band behaved. I didn't know Pam was doing this race, too, and it makes me smile that you're able to share events together. Good job on a race well run!

Karl congrats on a great race. It seems like you did a great job pacing yourself on the two run's and on the bike. It's pretty impressive that you haven't been out on the bike since Oct and you still put together a great ride. Congrats to Pam as well and it's great to see you both able to race together.

Great Race!!!

It sounds like you had a great day for it too.  A 19.5 MPH ride is a great effort for the time you put i on the bike.  It sounds like you weren't hurt too much by not riding the TT bike for a while too.

BTW, I would rather deal with the noseeums than the swamp turkeys!!

Way to get out and race like that, even with the lack of tri bike time it sounds solid.

(sarcasm on) I am a little concerned about your T1 methodology (sarcasm off)

Bummer on the water bottle, but great that the IT was fine.
