rrrunner - 2013-05-03 3:21 PM so yesterday was my work partner's birthday so I made a GF birthday cake for her (she has undiagnosed gluten issues, and her husband is out of town). Tomorrow is my birthday so she brought THESE in (there was another cupcake but she and I hoovered it before I thought to take a picture, the other one is a mini pecan pie).

Wait, did I miss that tomorrow is your birthday?? Or is this the first we are hearing about it?

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!

I may have either left it out of the birthday discussion or buried it among more titillating conversation Cool

so now I'll be the age that USAT says i am Laughing

Yes first name.

Not as cool of a character as yours. He was exclusively pretty and I reeled him in by puking on him at a house party

Hey, that's my trick!

I'm not sure cool is the word. I think edgy is more like it. He was and is devastatingly handsome though, and a great athlete.

Hm. That all reminds me of you.

Now of course the detail I left out is where we met and how we got together. At summer camp. I'm sure it would have all been fine and dandy had he not been a (18-year-old) counselor and I been (barely) 14 at the time.

Heh. I just remember all of a sudden a blinding flashlight beam in our faces and "YOU GUYS ARE IN BIG TROUBLE."

Good thing they didn't find the Jack Daniels and cigarettes, too.

I suppose one could think of him as awful, being a legal adult, being in a position of "authority" and I barely past tweens. Truth is we were both just young dumb crazy teenagers. I was well on my own Highway to Hell already--it's not like he put me there or even got me any further up the road.

You've got mad experience in the age-gap escapades. They all seem to be centered around plots that have gone on be make good, uhhh, movies?

I dated a 36 year old cop when I was 18. He had a son 2 years younger than I was Cool

My 67 year old mother is married to a man the same age as DH (52). It was way more interesting when they started dating when he was 29 and she was 44 Undecided

Musta been, and then stayed in to do background checks on Mom's BFs.

I do love age-capades!

Funnily enough just tonight I was talking about various boyfriends who have been besotted with my mom. I think I mentioned the one where I was 18-19, he was 38 (yes a professor just not MY professor at the time) and Mutti was 62 going on 40. He STILL sends her a birthday card and Mother's Day card every single year! (Not me. Just her).

Ahhh shisha!!! I really miss that stuff. It kind of went away when they banned smoking in the bars here in Seattle because it was really difficult to get around the law.

We used to have a hookah but the risk of some mildly buzzed and clumsy person knocking the hot coal onto our hardwood floors is an 11 on the scale.

So I was cruising along today on the bike trail.  In aero, holding steady at 20 mph.  I typically pass people and don't get passed.  I hear a buzzing sound behind me, and think, "Am I getting passed? That means..." And then there it was.  A guy on a tri bike cruising at 23 mph (I know because I tailed him to see how fast he was going).  Hafta say it was cool to see another tri person out and about.

There's the goal!  Need to work on the legs and get those few extra mph.

Hi everyone. Haven't been on in a while, for various reasons. Am getting quite nervous about my first tri, which is fast approaching. Only 2 weeks to goSurprised!!!

I haven't done any fitness for 2 weeks, and have just started running again. Taking it easy over the next 2 weeks to ease myself back in without doing any damage. I had the 2 week hiatus from fitness due to doing an impromptu drunken marathon (see my log for the 20th of April to get what I mean) and since then have been super busy decorating the house, planting the fruit and veg, and other famly stuff.

I've been keeping up with the group on a daily basis, but for some reason I find it difficult to find something to post about. I have days/weeks like that, where I become  introverted and can become quite depressed. Might be to do with the lack of endo's from no exercise Undecided.

I have noticed the other thread started, and will be popping in soon if that's okay.

Happy  Birthday TJ (was it yesterday or today?) and good luck to all the racers out there this weekend.

P.S. Where's Chad, Jonathon AK and Froggy? Jonathon should be starting his road trip pretty soon shouldn't he?

On another note, I thought I'd share a little "blonde moment" I had whilst decorating to give you a chuckle.

You probably have paint in the states that is similar to the paint we have in the UK. There is a white paint that you can buy that is pink when it is wet, but turns white when it dries (so that you can see where you have painted already). So, I started painting the living room ceiling with an old  tub of this paint that was in the shed. Spent a good few hours cutting in all around the coving and ceiling roses. Only to find out that when the paint dried, I had actually painted using pink paint. Turned out it was just pink paint in an old pot. Took another 4 coats to stop the pink from showing through Yell    #barbaracartlandthemedlivingroom

I love that you are lurking anyway. And I sure feel you on that--more than a Manatee or two have seen me go through those times.

{MELON PRESS} to my pinkified Dazzers. Hey, I live in a pink house with red doors ...
