WoodrowCall - 2013-05-02 7:53 AM All this rain sucks! Will rain on Sunday affect the status of the race at all? My last race had the swim canceled because of so much rain the days before. I DO NOT want to do another duathlon!

I assume the swim would be at risk if the area gets lots of rain on Saturday.  Being a river swim, they will rely on TVA controlling the flow to lessen the current.  In Nashville last year, heavy rains leading up to race day forced the swims to be shortened but not cancelled.  Hopefully it will just be off-and-on showers and no thunder/lightening.

Rain won't cancel the swim. It poured a couple years ago and was cold as I can remember, and we still hit the water.

Does anybody know if you park in the same place as race day (g10 parking garage) for packet pickup and the athlete meeting on the day before? Or is there another place to park?

Driving down from Chicago tomorrow. The water should be awakening - to say the least!

Question if Eric Opdyke checks on here again - at that other race series - neoprene booties are allowed if the water is below 65 - does Rev3 have a cutoff?

And yes - I can take the comments from others that I'm a wimp with cold feet!

That was a fun race. Everyone survive? Despite the weather I still managed to hit my goal time. I just finished my race report.

Well that was a lot of fun, lol. In a sick way, I kinda enjoyed it. The conditions took away the performance pressure and allowed me to just cruise and focus on safety. I just laughed most of the time. Not much you can do about it. Good job everyone!

Yeah, I enjoyed the race, although it's a lot easier to say that now that I'm warm and dry! I really have a lot of respect for Rev3. They really made the best of some terrible conditions, and their volunteers were the best. I loved hearing that aid station on the run.

yea it was a gut check and nothing more than that. I took it very easy on the bike to not wreck since first race of the year. Heart is stronger than the mind

Yup, back to the training grind getting ready for Cedar Point, I'm hoping with more training and better conditions (flatter course) I can knock 50 mins off my time. We'll see.

They said a newsletter should be out today with links to pictures, that will help us re-live it for at least a few more hours.

I like what they at least tried to do with the bike photos. Picked a spot where we should be in aero, from the side, and have the bridge & city in the background.

I gave the guy a thumbs up during the picture. Looks pretty cool.
