Subject: RE: Best tri training watch? Originally posted by JPanula Just have to put in a word for suunto. Previously had a t3d and now using the t6d. Chose it over the garmin due to its smaller size and the movescount software. Works great as an everyday watch, and can't complain about any of the functions during training. Living in Finland, and doing about 50% of my training indoors, so I love the option to have the gps as a separate unit. Not yet tried it during an ows, but I hope the gps pod in swimcap method works. And btw they just released a new gps pod. A lot smaller, also works without a watch (might be good for ows) and has an option for 10 sec interwalls (up to 100 hours on one charge). I'll second the Suunto, I've had a T3c since 2008, and it still works like a champ, had an opportunity to get the Ambit 2s, I've only had it a couple of days but so far very impressed. It's set up so you can do a tri and move seamlessly from swim to T1 to Bike to T2 to run and have it combined yet break out the 5 different "events" for all of your data. Want to set it up for seamless run/swim brick, no problem, bike/run brick ez pezy. I've been very impressed with Suunto's quality compared to the other brands. My old T3c I have used as an every day watch and probably will continue that. Here is a very good review of the Ambit and it's variants by D.C. Rainmaker Ambit 2 2s review |
