If you battle with Planters Faciaitis you may benefit from a sock I was recently turned on to, the Feeture.  I've been wearing it for 4 days, 24 hours a day, even while running, and my PF pain is gone.  The only way I can describe it is to say it gives your foot the feeling of being completely supported and snuggled. Like wrapping yourself in a warm blanket.

TriGuy05 - 2013-04-29 10:05 AM so is it kind of like a short compression sock?

Yeah, pretty much, except the support is a bit different and the toe is open so it's great to sleep in as well.  No compression over the heel, major compression under the arch and outer part of foot.  All I iknow is that my foot felt better the minute I put it on.  I have only taken it off to launder it.  Pain is gone.

Thanks! I will get a pair of these for my husband. He is not a runner but gets PF at the end of hunting season.

nolehypothesis - 2013-04-29 11:22 AM So is this a cure for PF or just a treatment for the pain? If you left the sock off for a few days would the pain return?

I'm not sure.  I didn't sleep with it last night since it was being washed....no pain this morning.  PF, for me, is all a matter of maintenance so I'm not sure it matters.  I can run pain free, that's all I care about.

I wear mine on my right foot all day......and I run in it.  I'm pain free with a 270+ day running streak.  My orginal flare up was in my left foot but I have not had a problem with PF on that foot for 5 or 6 months.  Another person I know who had been battling PF for almost a year now wears this support as well.....he's back to running full time pain free but also wears it continuously.
