The RD replied to a mail I had sent him a couple of months ago and said it was still on but had no idea of a date.  Gotta be some permit issues, especially when Cal Trans is involved.

The price is right on the early reg, I am in. It's cool, they gave me a discount for volunteering at last years race as well!

Awesome! I am registering Friday. Where are going to do your training rides? It is a hard one to train for with 28 miles straight up hill. I am nervously looking forward to it. It will be my first HIM.

I still ride the canyon at least once a week, I add in Silverado Canyon to the top of dump hill then hit Modjeska Canyon on the way back. Local hill repeats on the road bike, Vista del Lago, La Barca and La Paz along with the La Pata hill that is part of Orangeman, and put my longer rides in on Santa Ana River Trail (70+ miles there). PM me if you want to go for a ride sometime.

Will be doing ironman canada two weeks before, so sadly I'll miss the sand run this year /sarcasm

Superfrog is fun. Last year's swim was tough though. The bike is super flat and really fast if the wind doesn't pick up. The run... brutal.

I thought they changed the course this year? I haven't even looked at the maps yet...

Oooh, sounds good! Although just hearing Vista Del Largo sends chills down my spine. I ride the canyon at least once a week too, but silverado canyon scares me, too windy and narrow with no bike path. I'll have to try La Barca and La Paz. Thanks! I am probably too slow for you, my race speed for OC TRi is only 16.3 mpr. If you can work with that I would love to try a ride with you. My riding schedule is not clear yet for the summer.

Its an expensive race to put on and not enough people had signed up to guaranty it would be profitable.

I forwarded my race to one they are supposed to have in April. Hopefully the timing will be better and the turn out will be too.
