That's shi* disturber post if I've heard one!!!

This will be a very interesting race - nobody's at 100%, and the biggest discussions revolve around post-race activities.

There may be pictures.

I entered with a 1:45, but my PF, Achilles and calf are all screaming at me, and I'm praying for a sub 2:00.  Best ever is a 1:48.

I can't wait!!! The team - name that I don't think I'm allowed to disclose here - is gonna rock it!!

Ok, no tripping each other up, no scratching, no putting Deep Heat in the Body Glide!

And let the fastest lady win (Kim)

The truth of the matter is I really have no idea what I can pull off in this half marathon.  My best is 1:39 set a long time ago.  I haven't run one since April 2012 (1:43), I'm carrying the fatigue of 3 10Ks in 4 weeks and have turned up the bike intensity.  Never mind being off for three weeks in Africa.  None of that is an excuse, it's just the facts.  No taper, no worry, all fun.

I'm using my normal strategy, turn on the watch, never look at it and go total RPE.  Going to start off at MP for the first half and try to turn it up the last half.

Fastest runner buys the first round of drinks.

Slowest runner buys the second round.

Best dressed buys the third round.

Nobody will remember anything after that - until we get to our spa appointments Monday afternoon.

6 women - all starting together - all  running - all partying at the end - this will be epic!!!   I'm not tapering, since I can't train.  Can't wait!!!!

Team BAMF!!!

ROAR..............

It was quite a ride!

Suzy and Kim did very well - impressive, given the race conditions! (35,000 runners - many in costumes - lots of drunk and smoking spectators, 3/4 mile until you could really run after the start) Sam and Pim beat their pace - goals, and darn near carried me over the finish line.  They caught up to me at mile 11-12, and when I told them to keep going - they refused.  Said I looked really bad.  HA!  I'm sure I did, and they were AWESOME.

The bad part was the 3 mile walk back to the hotel after.........we DID drink the chocolate milk, and left the beer behind.

Suzy and Kim made it out for dinner after - the rest of us did not. Personally, I had an ice bath and then a hot whirlpool bath.....aaaaahhh.

Monday, however......was EPIC.  And Chet & Jill joined us for dinner - they used a date night on us!  Impressive.  Chet also crushed the course - nobody saw HIM after the start!!  And, he was a GREAT cab driver!

So much fun.

Off to ice my PF, Achilles, calf, quads, and whatever else.

Great job ladies!!! sounds like a race to remember. Those really big races are hard to run, hard to get a PR since it takes so long t even run. I am sure you all did awesome!

We had a blast!  It was so good to get together again for an estrogen filled weekend and a little testosterone thanks to Chet.  In the end, Julia wasn't able to join us and that was the only bummer of the weekend.

For those that aren't FB friends with Linda, Kim or me, here are some photos:

Have a great race tomorrow Dan!!!

It was a frigid 3F with gusty NW winds up to 30mph for my long run today.  Perfect way to start marathon training!  NOT!

I did a half marathon this morning and ran a 1:40:24 which is new PR by 21 seconds (previous PR was at this race last year).   The one thing I don't like about this race is that they tag everyone with the same start time and line up by age groups.   My watch said I did the race in 1:39:53.    Starting temp was a balmy 43. No more racing for about 6 months.

RR later...
