BTers

I know it is kind of sudden, but I am considering doing a training camp at the race site on July 29-30 (Rob at first I was planning Aug 5-6m but I just realized that would be kind of close to T-man)

Anyway, I am planning something like this:

SATURDAY

AM >>56 mile loop (20 mile easy, 26 mile at HIM pace (race pace), 10 mile at Oly pace (or slight above race pace) and a 25 min transition run at easy pace.

Eat/rest/nap

PM -  easy 20-30 swim at Ellacoya State park (this can be optional depending at what time we start the AM session)

>> group dinner

SUNDAY

early AM >> 1.2 mile swim as half easy, half at race pace, transition 25-30 mile ride at easy pace, and transition 45-60 min transition run at race pace.

This would be a great race rehearsal and builder for T-man. Depending on who wants to join we can break down on groups based on projected racing times. This would be totally self-supported, at your own risk and casual. Although we could share some training tips/advice.

Who is in?

Jorge,

I'd love to go but I'll be at TI camp that weekend.

Have fun!
Rob

BTW:
Seth just got back from a vacation up that way and said the run course is just plain tough!

Damn. Great idea and sounds like a lot of fun, but I'll be coaching all weekend at Junior Olympics in Lancaster, PA.

I could go up for Saturday only, if the group workout is still happening...is it?

I can post info to the Wheelworks team if you want to open it up beyond BT.com as well, but as you said, I would want to keep it casual, small, and all at your own smarts/risks.

Ok, so I know of only one other Wheelworks guy who is going up to ride the course on Saturday.  We'll likely leave BOS/CAMB around 7am -- what's your timing going to be for Saturday?

E-mail or post in my Log if I don't reply here within 24 hrs.  I can be slow that way, but I'd welcome the chance to meet you all and have some company on the course.

Cheers, -Sunny

I am still up in the air about tomorrow but as of now I probably won't be able to go up there tomorrow. I have a lot of stuff to work on for the Dash & Bash triathlon, but if I change my mind I'll PM this evening. Although, I really want to ride the course before the race...

Sorry man, but you missed a great day of riding!  It was hot, but not while riding except on just a few of the hills.  The breezes were nice, not nasty.  Don't know what our paces were, but I'm sure I wasn't going all that fast on the last 10 miles.

Anyway, I loved the bike course and still had a little left in my legs for a 20, not 25, minute run on the course.
Hope you enjoyed your Saturday, too!
