We were down there thursday. It was us and like four other idiots. The water temps were OK but the chop was quite formidable. OH well, we got our swims in. This week's weather looks to be nicer.

Saw three swimmers down there yesterday at lunch (Ohio St. Beach), all in full wetsuits. Water's still too cold for me, but the cool breeze off the lake is lovely for biking and swimming.

Snapped this shot just near my office around noon. It looks so inviting in the water!

Gorgeous pic!

I went swimming yesterday in a sleeveless suit and it wasn't TOO bad, though I definitely wouldn't be one of the crazies out there without any wetsuit at all.

The water was still a tad chilly, but bearable - so I'll probably start making all of my swims in the lake from now on... just got to try and get there early enough to get a locker!

If you can get there by about 445 you should be able to get one. Unless the weather is crappy then you can get one anytime.

Nooo that's 445pm. In the morning there's maybe a half dozen people in the water. You should have no problems getting a locker at 6am.

Whew. Okay, cool beans! With triathletes, 4:45am isn't as nutty as it sounds... Or maybe it is, I don't know...

I wont swim in Lake Michigan in the dark. Not because it's dangerous -- you can stand up for most of that swim -- but because I'm afraid of swimming in the dark. I've seen every horror movie involving water ever made, I know what's going on out there.

Anyone know what time i should get there in order to get a parking spot? Assuming I need to get there earlier on the weekends than during the week?

There's no parking at Ohio Street Beach -- you would have to park someplace nearby in the city and walk over. -
