Pre-race routine:

Woke up late!!!! grabbed a banana and ran out the door. I'm glad I packed up the truck the night before!
Event warmup:

setup transition area, walked around a little, put on wetsuit and jumped in the water for a little splash around.

Felt good on the swim, lost direction a couple times but overall I'm very satisfied with the swim compared to other races.

OK bike. Ive done faster on this section in the past. could not seem to catch my breath for most of the ride. kept telling myself to save my legs for the run.

deeper breathing, ride faster!

Didn't feel like I was running fast but my time was pretty good for the course. once again, I have run faster on this section in the past. drank water and cooled off with a towel at the halfway point.
What would you do differently?:

ran harder and gave it my all.

I found a sprint, the Lake Las Vegas Triathlon, that was happening four months down the road and signed myself up; much to the surprise of friends and family.

I was passing others who were saying, "Good job, 587" (that was my race number). People were cheering me on. These were the nicest people I have ever been around!
