After my ride today I looked at all the data like always. Uploaded my workout from my 910xt to MMR and got some pretty different figures. My Garmin had my climbing at around 5,300 feet, while MMR said I was just under 3,000. I'm assuming MMR is probably more accurate, correct? If so, why the HUGE differences? Is there some setting in my Garmin I should change?

Have you updated the firmware to the latest version? I think the 910XT had a bit of an issue with elevation in a previous version of the firmware. Garmin takes the raw data without data correction (I believe) whereas MMR compares the data to the elevation data in the database and corrects errors. Either one could be right... MMR tend to under estimate elevation gains, and the Garmin tend to record more feet of climbing than actual...

The boat was being tossed around. Someone noted that there were whitecaps on the waves. Another guy said, “This is going to be challenging.” I began to wonder what he meant by 'challenging'.
