I did the Dam Tri last year as well. It actually replaced the Lake Murray Triathlon as my favorite local event. I signed up for Augusta 70.3 which, unfortunately falls on the same weekend so I will, sadly, miss the Dam this year. Have fun!

I did this race last year and really enjoyed it. I think I'll be doing it again after I get back from IMLou.

You'd tear this course up. The swim is great, the bike is easy rolling hills, and the run is pancake flat. I'd say you'd PR, but it's a weird distance, so you won't have much to compare it to. You'll still be fast on it, though.

Have done this race every year. Always well run and fun. To me the distances feel shorter due to how fast the bike and run are.

Has this race been wetsuit legal in the past? It looks like the water temp is 79 now so it should be close http://waterdata.usgs.gov/usa/nwis/uv?site_no=02168500

I'm not sure what it was like before, but it was wetsuit legal last year.

probably not, its been a big year of races for me already.  i could almost buy a new bike with the money i've spent on race entry this year alone... ok now im going to stop thinking about it.

i think im going to look at volunteering for the race, don't see why not

I couldn’t help but feel that the race had beaten me. Perhaps duathlons were more for me? No, I was more determined than ever to succeed. I was determined to get on top of my swimming.

This life of mine is not so different from yours. It has a multitude of similarities. I suffer from uncertainty, I get nervous at the thought of registering and when getting to the starting line.

I am not going to buy a tri-suit before my first tri - I want to make sure I am going to stick with this before I spend a lot of money on it so I want to figure out what will work best.

I couldn't believe that my splits kept getting lower! I started to run harder after I passed the "5 km" sign and picked a few people that I wanted to pass.

We did really well with the beers, which will explain my reluctance to get out of bed on Saturday morning.
