Hahaha...sorry, I am not making fun of the people who are so proud of their new rides, I'm just trying to lighten up my own mood.

Your crutch tips are set too high, you need a better fitting!

Ugh, Brad.  Massive bummer.  Hang in there, rest up....there's lots of race season left.  Hopefully you can still enjoy some of it!

Give it a day or two, the under arm crutch-rub is some of the freakin worst. Lube now.

Good call.

Where do I add the cadence sensor to these bad boys?

Outside of your right shoe, and just above the rubber stopper, inside of the right crutch.

A metronome might help you hit your must efficient stride.

Initial diagnosis is a torn calf muscle during my tri yesterday morning. Heading to a sports doc in a few minutes to get a better look. Pretty sure it isn't the Achilles, thankfully.

Confirmed the torn calf. Didn't really give me a firm timetable, we're meeting again in 2 weeks to assess. I'm on crutches "until I don't need to be on crutches", so I am just taking it day by day. Today was lots better than yesterday already. I am registered for a sprint in mid/late August...doc and I both think I can be back for that, but no promises. I'm going to train the swim with a vengeance for a few weeks!

You should have gone for red.  Everyone knows that's the fastest color.  Laughing

You may want to wear your helmet while riding those.

Ooooooh Brad, that's a good idea.  You should get into your full kit--yes, with the helmet--and take a new avatar pic!  So awesome:)

I can't believe you got in the pool yesterday, btw.  You take it easy there killa.  It's those little things, like getting in and out of the pool, for example, that can land you right back at square one. Patience young Jedi.

Known for its brutal cadences, nasty sprints and 12-minute hills, the spin class seems to be the perfect substitute for a raunchy ride outside. But is it?
