Master  2504   Southwest Iowa |  Subject: guitar art.Here is a piece I am starting and not sure how much to put into it. This one is made of motorcycle chain that I kept from a few of my dirt bikes. It is a Stratocaster design and is very close to exact size. I borrowed a friends guitar to trace and then made a wooden fixture to build this around. It is tack welded on the back side of the chain. I am not sure how I am going to finish it. This will just hang in my shop probably.

I am planning on using my old acoustic strings, but not sure about what I am going to use from scraps or upcycled materials. I am thinking about nuts for knobs and for the tuners either use wing nuts or possible cut some washers. |

I will probably just use scrap wire for frets with this one, but I may use spokes on the one made of bike chain instead of motorcycle chain.

Shane The Tele is going to be made with used chain from some chain saws for the guitar player in my current band and he works for a tree service that works with the electrical companies. The Les Paul is probably going to be bicycle chain. I have already been asked about and SG and a Gretsch. |
