Question for you runners. New shoes, 3rd run, and blister on my arch. Is this something that needs to be broke in or is there something else I should do about it or is it simply that I have soft feet that need to build calluses? I need to do something because I'm in love with these shoes and besides the blister they feel outstanding and I really don't want to have to switch.

If it's needed the shoes are Brooks PureCadence 2. Not sure if that will have something to do with it.

It's hard to say. I've had issues with new shoes. Several were from defective stitching that was resolved with just swapping for another pair. But I've had shoes that were wrong for my foot and shredded me. Generally, if I have an issue that does not resolve after a run or two, I'll exchange the shoe for another in hopes there was just something defective. If the problem persists, I'll look for a different shoe.

Many variables here. They may just be stiff since they are so new. Could be you did not have laced well. Could be something inside the arch area of the shoe is protruding. Could have been the type of run (fatigued?, hilly?)

I got a new pair of the same size / brand of shoes and started running on them. On my left foot, the toe next to the big toe starts to get a little painful and goes numb after the first 1-3 miles.

Already a cyclist and not a bad swimmer, I figured all I had to do was build up to running a few miles and I’d be ready to go. The challenge invigorated me, and I ran out to buy new running shoes.

I have 10 lessons with a coach and he keeps telling my I'm holding my breath. I cannot figure out where since I'm breathing out and in every 3rd stroke. Any drill recommendations?
