Subject: Training between races
I have two Sprint Tri races coming that are separated by exactly 1 month in between. I have trained 5 months for the first one and I surely want to keep my level for the second one.

I'm looking for help in what I should do in between the two races? Do I train like during tapering? Do I train like normal in the first 2 weeks then taper at the second half?

Thank's!

I would give yourself some recovery after your race, start swimming maybe a day after and then add in some bike with just spinning.
Start your running a few days later, to give your legs a rest. See how you feel. Always be careful working back into training, your muscles have to repair from any damage from the race.

Then you can pickup the routine you had a month prior to your sprint, and just repeat that.

I don't think a 2 week taper is necessary though, a week should be fine.

Yes, definitely listen to your body and take it easy with the running!

Training our bodies to work efficiently in Zone 2 will help us keep our HR and pace even throughout an Ironman. This theory would hold true for the bike and run portion of an Ironman race.

Experts agree, doing a “mock,” triathlon on the course you’re racing can aid you in your training; performance and most of all quell some nervous energy.
