I remember seeing it for the first time when my son was an infant and being immensely relieived (and, not gonna lie, a little proud) when he showed no interest in it whatsoever. Wow, is that a horrible show.

In general, I think most programming for little kids (DoodleBops, Yo Gabba Gabba, Dora/Diego, Wiggles, LazyTown) kind of sucks. Most of them are just bright colors and noise.

And I'm convinced that Teletubbies was intended to be watched while high. It's really the only explanation for why it exists. The "childrens' programming" thing is just a ruse to get it past the censors.

The band that sang about "Family" was cute, especially when the tuba player was be-bopping around, but, other than that, I don't know how that show EVER got to be aired.

We've blocked it on our DVR/cable box. Not so much because my wife and I are against the show, per se, but because we want to maintain our own sanity should the channel not get changed in time and we wold then be subjected to watching it with our 3 year old.

I don't mind most kids programming, but I have limits.

My kid watched it at age 4. It was pretty popular in the toddlers and tot's stage, but I hear they stopped making the show. A staple on the Treehouse station like Dora The Explorer, etc. It had some great lessons for kids and I've heard that it was one of the better ones.

Personally, I hated the show...the one character that looked like ribbed condom just isn't right....

Before I had ever heard of yo gabba gabba, I saw the commercial where they come to life and drive a car around.  I actually thought that the commercial was implying one of the mom's "toys" had gotten mixed in with the kid's toys.

I'd take 10 thousand Yo Gabba Gabbas over a single 15 second video of "Oobi" the hand-talking show...

Hey hey hey ... Now wait a minute here...
Yo gabba gabba is a fine show that does a lot of singing and dancing. My 2 year old loves it. She sings and dances around when the songs come on.
Also, the flaming lips, the roots, devo, the ting tings etc. all have made a cameo.
As kids shows go, it isn't that bad.
My daughter now speaks a little Spanish thanks to Dora and Diego.
She also has a few Chinese words from the ki-LAN show.
Umi-zoomi teaches her shapes and numbers.

Now, I'm not saying that I allow TV to raise my kid. But when it comes to kids programming things are pretty ok out there.
Seasame Street is still a little too advanced for 2 year olds.
She's only guests a few hours of tv on the weekends. Plus those shows are better than any Real Housewive .. I'd rather have her singing and dancing than arguing..

i remain convinced that there was a large amount of money wagered on the prospect that a kids' show featuring a giant one-eyed um, toy that starts with D and ends with "ildo" could actually be aired. Someone lost that bet and shakes his head every time it is aired.

But come on, any show featuring a regular drop-in from Biz Markie can't be all bad.

Agreed. I like Yo Gabba Gabba for the inventiveness and music. And they have good themes/lessons. What I can't stand and is now banned in my house is Caillou. Whiny little bastard turned my kid into a whiny little brat who was scared of everything any time she watched it. Horrible show.

If you think Caillou's whining is bad, don't watch Ni Hao, Kai-Lan. Temper tantrums every episode I've watched. And the only lesson I've seen is Let's pacify the guy who's most angry and loud. Not their intention, I'm sure. But way too over-the-top with the emotions.
