Subject: Question for those with a SwimP3
How many sessions did it take you to get it adjusted well? Admittedly, I have only tried using mine once so far, but I struggled to get it in a reliable spot where I could hear it well and where it would stay. Note that I am a long time swimmer who does hard pushoffs from the wall on starts and flip turns. I don't use a swim cap to keep it in place, either. I use a fairly standard pair of Speedo goggles normally (usually Vanquishers). They tend to have a fairly thin strap. I noticed the few times that I could get them to hold reliably, I ended up having a poor seal and would have a goggle fill up. Doing 100s on the 2 minutes, I'd be frustrated during each rest as I would be adjusting the player and the goggles every single time.

Any tips/tricks? What has worked for you?

Note: I searched for SwimP3 but it came up in a lot of threads. I didn't read them all, but didn't see a thread with the same basic question. Sorry if I am duplicating something!

I found that they work best with a set of goggles that: 1) had a wide strap, 2) sat around the eye socket rather than in the socket (like vanquishers). I found that with this type of goggle (which I prefer) the SwimP3 would pull the goggle out of my eye socket and make the goggles leak. An OWS type goggle, like a AquaSphere Kayenne, seemed to work best. YMMV

Thanks. Maybe I'll grab a pair of the Kayennes. I have always wanted to try those kinds out, but have been a standard Vanquisher guy since way back in high school swimming.

I would suggest maybe trying to wear a swim cap. I wear mine all the time and there is a big difference between no cap and cap with those things staying in place. The rubber from the cap gives them something to grip and I rarely have a problem with them staying in place. I use the Barracuda goggles also and have never had a problem with leaks using them with the SwimP3 player.

I've been using one for about three years now and will occasionally have them move a little if I push off the wall very hard.  For me it's a good reminder not to push so hard because I have tweeked my calf pushing too hard before.  I also wear a cap all the time which helps a lot to keep it in place.  I also try to position it as far back as I can to minimize it creating a gap between the strap and my head closer to the lens.

The thought of being able to listen to music while turning laps was enough for me to give this a shot, but I had some reservations. Was it heavy? How good is the sound?
