I may be the odd person out here, but I don't bother with tri shorts. I have a good pair of 2XU compression shorts and use them all race long for races upto and including HIMs. My bike seat is comfortable and I liberally lather up down under - and no worries on the bike leg. And then I don't have to worry about a pad for the run portion. This strategy works for me - haven't had any problems to date.

The way I look at is this...there will be some discomfort/getting used to either on the bike or on the run. Take your pick.

All this said, De Soto seems to be popular...

Got my DeSoto 4 pocket Forzas last Friday. Great fit, materials and workmanship. Took em out for a ride and a run yesterday and they turned out to be comfortable.

I'll probably buy more of their stuff. Gotta support my local folks! Their office in Mira Mesa is just 2 miles away from where I work

I've got a pair of 2XU shorts that I've worn for races for the last two years.  They fit OK and they are comfortable, but all the lettering is peeling off which makes them look tacky.  Probably will be in the market for something new for next year.

Just got a pair of De Soto shorts - the most comfortable yet for bike and run! Quality is great.

The first time out and 50 meters in my oxygen was in very short supply. I realized that all that running didn't do much for this sport.
