I don't care what the time chip says. This girl bleeds iron and is an iron woman.

But Yanti, I understand you continuing even after your third crash... But now it's time to rest.

Karma vibes are being sent your way.

Yanti, you are an Ironwoman in my book. No need to.....ahem....knock yourself out to prove that for a while! Get well soon and hope to see you at Metaman, or at least read about your exploits, in the next few years.

Oh, that's not what they meant by "hey, go knock yourself out!" ?

We WILL see each other somewhere! We WILL! And you were smokin' my swim split with me ... it was a rugby match and you were blazing the path!

Yanti,

It's been a weekend of pure inspiration, hasn't it? I (along with at least half of the BT crazies) followed your progress in IM Japan, with everything crossed that you've make it this time. Alas, dreadful conditions, 3 crashes!!!!, no hydration etc, all came together to thwart your dream. However, I've noticed that each attempt gets you further and further, despite all these insane setbacks.

I've was also inspired by Diana Nyad's story and efforts this weekend, with her 35 year dream of swimming from Cuba to Florida. I'm putting my neck on the line here and saying that it will NOT take you 35 years to achieve your dream, but remember what Diana said on exiting the water after 53 hours: "One is, we should never, ever give up. Two is, you're never too old to chase your dream. Three is, it looks like a solitary sport, but it is a team."

One of these days you are going to get there, and boy will there be one HUGE party when you do, with everyone from the BT world cheering you on!

Rest up, recover, and then Go Team Yanti!!!!

Cheers,
Jo

I'm not quite half way into my IM training. I just raced a sprint and on Monday I woke up and felt like I'd been drugged! Not sore, just incredibly fatigued.

Now, for the last 20 years I’ve always though that jogging seemed about as interesting as watching paint dry, and you know what? That’s how it turned out to be.

I’m a 240lb man, and I run relatively long distances. How would you recommend training for marathon and IM distances as heavy as I am?

A Navy Seals program modified specifically for triathletes. This workout is DIFFICULT!!! The weight training portion alone may make you cry.

It makes no sense to train hard for a year to hone that aerobic system only to have all that training undermined by a few anaerobic bursts on race day. So, how do you go about it?

Byrn won’t hold your hand through the long hours and miles required finishing or for success in an IM, he can only show you how to get there. The work is up to you.
