Starting this week I plan on training for a sprint triathlon some time in the spring of '07. The month of august I will be on vacation so I will start serious traing in september. I have a background in running and surfing so my swimming skills are ok too. Im a vegan. I'm a college student in my first year majoring in Nutrition. Triathlons caught my eye as a fun way to stay in shape and compete against my own abilities. I was wondering where I can find a list if triathlons for 2007, all I could find was 2006 schedules?

I think most people use http://active.com/triathlon/but if they don't have the 2007 schedules out, most triathlons just repeat itself around the same dates from year to year.  You probably just have to approximate the date but it will more or less be in the same month as the previous year.  You may also try checking the specific website to see if there are any updates and if not, email the contact person/race director on the website and see if they can give you a better guess.  Many times, they may not even know the exact date.

An example is, the california 1/2 IM I did this year was on March 18, next year for 2007 is March 31.   I found this on the website for the CA 1/2.

Welcome to BT!  Where are you in FL?  If you're around the southeast coast you can check www.multirace.com.  They won't have the 2007 scedule up yet, but like the last person aid the races are always around the same date each year.  Good luck balancing tris with school!

Welcome to the florida tri scene.  If you are in the southeast (miami) area, check out www.teamhammerheads.com

Best of luck!

Thanks for the advice I will check those sites out. I live in Fort Pierce which about an hour north of West Palm Beach. I want to find a race and the dates so I can have an exact goal in mind. I think it would help me to keep more motivated. Balancing school and tris will be a challange but i'm looking forward to it. Thanks for the welcome.

The Loggerhead Triathlon is in mid-August in Jupiter - that would be a good goal for next summer.  And on that multirace website there should be information about the Singer Island tri - I think it was just a few weekends ago, so it will be next July.

Welcome to the site!  I train in Delray, and do head down to Miami with those Hammerhead knuckleheads.  Link from me to fcollada, billcarb and wschuss to get some good training ideas.  My territory incorporates Fort Pierce; we can put together a ride some weekend!
