So like an idiot, I didn't start my watch for the practice swim... does the race post the times?

I don't think so. I think they just make sure that who goes in comes out... =/ I'm sure you'll be fine tomorrow though!

Hope you all had a good day. I did. While I know I can be better faster and stronger on this course I did what I could and had a "good" day. I can't decide if I'd rather have more heat and less wind though

It was a pleasure reading along with you all this year I hope the rest of your year goes smoothly. If you're going to Texas again next year, I'll see you there.

--Cheers, Chris

Hope you all have a great day too!! I can't believe I completed my first IM. I had a great day, awesome race result, and the crowd and volunteers made this experience unique.

Thank you for your help and motivation during these past few months!

Good job everyone! I race IMTX in 2013 and have to say that you guys had an awesome day with the exception of some wind in the face during much of your return trip on the bike. I was wearing a long blonde hippie wig just before mile 10 on the bike. My sign said:

Don't Finish
Don't Come Home

During the run I was with the rest of the hippies going crazy bangin' on drums and bells - drinking beer. Congrats!!!

I totally remember your sign on the bike course! An obviously, the hippie crowd was one of the best support groups of the run course. Thank you for being there cheering for all of us!

It went way better than what I expected. Completed my first IM in 10:43!

I had a terrible swim: 1:19 - I entered the water 4 minutes after the canon went off (I totally didn't plan well the logistics to start on time), my goggles fogged 400 yards into the swim, and both my calves started cramping after 1 - 1.2 miles, so I had to swim dragging my legs. Let's say I was happy to get out of the water...

Good bike: 5:14 - I had to hold off a little bit after a rough swim for my calves. I loved the course!

Decent Run: 3:58 - My watch broke, so I couldn't pace myself appropriately. I went off a little bit too fast and I paid it at the end. I had to run and walk the aid stations during the last 10 miles as my right calf started bothering again (I injured badly a couple of months ago and I never quite rest enough to heal it 100%). I should've finished around 3:45.

Weather was perfect and I had no issues with nutrition/hydration (I guess it helps having a sister who is a sports nutritionist for elite athletes!)

During the race there will be plenty of opportunities to exchange bottles, so I'm thinking about going with the aero bottle and Gatorade bottle and fill up as necessary. What should I do?

I never imagined that 350 yards broken down into 7 REALLY long lanes would be so big! I gasped out loud and told Grady that maybe I had underestimated the swim.

I was not an official; I simply observed the race and the officials doing their thing. Here is what I saw:
