???? I pretty much carry a towel or bandana with me at all times for mopping sweat, including when running errands or walking to work. We're issued towels as we enter the gym, and it's already necessary due to the sweat worked up getting to the gym in the first place. I guess that's a tropical world problem.

We have towels available to us, and are encouraged to use them, but our gym is also usually kept at 70*F, so I rarely break a sweat, even on my heaviest of lifting days.

Crisis averted, we were upgraded at the gate.  I know you were all worried!

Yesterday, our country club aerated the back 9 greens, so we were confined to playing only the front 9.

I stopped at McDonald's this am after swimming to get my (rare) occasional breakfast treat of a dollar menu sausage biscuit and a hash brown, usually totaling $2.12 (including tax).  This morning the total was $2.33 - hash browns are no longer a dollar but are now $1.19.

I had to send a rescue message to my brothers to come take my beer because it was taking up so much room. They each took two six packs and we still have too much awesome beer.

(and I am not drinking while I kick start my training).

It's not exactly a first world problem but it kind of is.....We suddenly have several branches of Dairy Queen in Saigon. It was super hot yesterday when I was doing errands downtown, and I almost got tempted by the Blizzards--then I saw that they were promoting--no kidding--Avocado Blizzards. (Avocado is considered a fruit here, which I guess it is, and makes a frequent appearance in smoothies. You can even get avocado/chocolate and avocado/coffee smoothies at our school.) Have never been able to "go local" to that extent-- cannot separate avocados from guacamole and chips. The thought of an Avocado Blizzard was so disgusting that I went elsewhere and got an iced coffee instead.

Oh you are wrong my friend. Avocado shakes are delicious! No doubt Dairy Queen would overload it with disgusting amounts of sugar though, so go local if you try it.

The locals use disgusting amounts of sugar, aka sweetened condensed milk, in smoothies, unless you find a health food type place. Anytime I get a smoothie here I have to keep repeating, "No sugar, no sugar, no sweet milk, use fresh milk" and even then they don't get it right most of the time. (Some fresh milk and yogurt is sweetened, too.) I don't know....I just can't get the guacamole association out of my mind.

Now coconut coffee (another Saigon combo), that's GOOOD!

After a week in rural Laos, where I met people who were too poor to have electricity, chickens, or a house with a floor, but still had what appeared to be a working I-phone, I can safely say I must be one of the few people in the world (or at least in Asia) without one. What is the name of this relief agency?? And do you think I could also get a grant for a power meter?

Yet another step toward being "first world" here, I guess. Last year we got the giant inflatable ducky thing on its world tour. Last week we had the advent of DQ. And now we have...dining in the sky. People pay some ridiculous amount of $ to be hoisted up a few hundred feet or so on a platform where they are served a gourmet dinner while people watch from down below. And of course, where else would the crane and all the associated advertising and other stuff be set up but at the turn-around point of my riverside running loop? Tempted to move to rural Laos and invest in a house with electricity, chickens, and a floor.

Be sure to get an iPhone before you move in. Wouldn't want the neighbors to think you were a hick.

Just got a wine shipment from one of my wine clubs, but I'm out of room in my wine fridge.  I now have 10 bottles without a home.

So, you don't have a wine cellar? Seems you have more than one first world problem to ponder IMO.

I had to put my bike shoes on the boot warmer to dry them out after my trainer session tonight. Now my running shoes won't be warm tomorrow morning.

Get a kitten. Mine used to sleep in my bike and running shoes. (Apparently they smelled like Mom or something.)
