Subject: Ironman (full) triathlon 2014 schedule
Hi Guys, i am very new to the triathlon world and had several questions...tried calling the contact number on the ironman.com website and have officially given up trying to reach someone there.

If anyone is kind enough to answer the question... i'd really appreicate it!

other than the ironman races that are already officially posted in the ironman.com site for 2014, what other races are pending after the chattanooga race? will there be an ironman in lake tahoe again next year? i am considering doing the lousville race, only if the lake tahoe ironman is not offered in 2014. But i woud also like to explore other options as i am looking for a race sometime on or after september of next year (preferably lake tahoe).

Thanks,
J

I am almost 100% certain the Tahoe contract is multipleyears so it should be offered next year....they don't usually update website till after the race, but the races usually fall on the similar weekend. IMlou typicalldoes not sell out till the eleventh hour.

Tahoe should be on the slate for 2014 barring a historical DNF cluster**k... which is entirely possible.

True.....I heard they are cutting the race down to a 200M swim, a 4 mile bike, and a 600M walk/run (please be careful and walk when you can, at 7000 ft. of elevation your brain can instantly explode while running) in the hope of saving over 300 lives.  They will still call it an Ironman, because, you know, it's Tahoe, and even in only 4 miles there is 8500 feet of climbing on the bike....including a 14,000 foot climb. I don't even know how that is possible.

Thanks for the reply. But is there any assurance on the website or by any ironman representative that tahoe will be offered again next year?

Thanks for the response. Again my same response to the earlier responder, is there any legitimate press release by an ironman website that tahoe will be offered again next year?

Executing this full Ironman plan for 17 weeks would give people with one Ironman under their belts very good preparation for a 2nd and 3rd. Preferably, you should have a 6:30 or faster HIM time.

This Intermediate 20 week plan is a quick ramp up in overall volume, but with 20 weeks to train only, it is a gradual and safe approach because of the alternating weeks of the long run/bike.

This training plan is written to prepare you for your first Ironman. While just a beginner’s plan, the hours per week start at a significant 8 hours.
