Pre-race routine:

I woke up at 4:30am and left house for a 2 hour drive to site. I ate fruit and nut oatmeal from Mcdonald's.
Event warmup:

20 minute warmup with several 30 sec to 1 minute super hard efforts.

I found a new threshold of pain and suffering... LOL... also a new and significantly higher LT HR rate.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

I need more strength to be able to compete against the big dogs and their sub 57 minute rides.

From couch potato to a tri in 8 weeks. It was the most fun I've had in a long time. The race organizers had it down and there were no problems at all. This was the perfect first tri, in my opinion.
