Master 2500 Crab Cake City | Subject: RE: Challenge USA-Atlantic City I will wait until I see the announcement on Wednesday but sounds pretty cool. I am interested to see if they decide to do an ocean swim or keep it in the protected bay area that the AC triathlon uses. With a June event, this could serve as a great Aqua-Velo tune up before IMMT in August, just need to find me a runner! |

I am trying to put together a relay team on facebook. After tagging people in a post, I think I have two whole teams built. This shall be great fun! |

Elite 3140 | Subject: RE: Challenge USA-Atlantic City I grew up at the jersey shore and like probably some of you know the area very well....but for out of towners, if the race is indeed in AC it will certainly be all flat......probably like a IMFL (or at least from what people tell me about FL) |

Veteran 273 Downingtown, Pennsylvania | Subject: RE: Challenge USA-Atlantic City Ive done Bassman a couple of times. Great little race! As far as elevation gain on a course around Atlantic City, dont be surprised if your total gain over 112 miles is something like 200ft. OK maybe 300... It will be amazingly windy though. Just hope that in June you get a sea breeze to keep you cool. If its going the other way that day, it iwll suck. I am on the fence for this one. Its in my backyard (Philly-area), but its AC, NJ which really isnt my favorite place in the world. Still I am tempted to do it just to do it... |

I was under the assumption from what I have heard & read that it would be Steve Delmonico from Delmosports (does the AC Triathlon, Escape the Cape & Wildwood Triathlon) either way, both of them run first class events and it should be run very smoothly. Does anyone know if this would be a wetsuit legal race that time of year? |

New user 23 | Subject: RE: Challenge USA-Atlantic City Yes, Del Mo Sports already announced that they are involved in running this race. They do a nice job with Escape the Cape, the Wildwood and AC Triathlons so they know the area and have the connections. If this race is in June is will definitely be wetsuit legal. The Escape the Cape was in June in Delaware Bay which is nearby and water temp was in the low 60's. |

Just saw on the Challenge website the Vigorito has paired up with Steve Delmonte for this event so they are both putting it on together. No doubt this event will be first class all the way! |

I started a thread to put together a relay team, inviting some runners, triatheles, and the rarest of unicorns: swimmers.... We have the potential for 3-4 teams going on. This is fun. They official announcement is this afternoon. aalso, another leaked source outs the date later Joanne. June 28, a Saturday. But we'll find out for sure soon. I secured a spot in pre-registration, hope that counts for relays. |

Master 2264 Sunbury, Pennsylvania | Subject: RE: Challenge USA-Atlantic City I am preparing to register a relay team. This is what blows me away about how different Challenge is from WTC. (And honestly, nearly every other race I've paid for) Easily the most forgiving refund policy ever. You have until April 1 to withdraw and get a refund minus $75. WTC keeps it all minus $75. You can transfer to another racer for a small fee. you can change out relays. you can switch from relay to individual. Is this how all challenge events are? This may be unprecedented in the US market. I actually believe it may have a great effect on selling out the races. WTC doesn't need to care, they've already shown they rely on a percent of no shows. But with this setup, it might get more people to sign up early since they know they have an out. That creates an easier sellout, then when people actually do pull out, the demand for the few slots will definitely get filled. Goodwill all around. Anyway I found it really encouraging. |

Elite 3140 | Subject: RE: Challenge USA-Atlantic City Originally posted by Mesteren Born and raised in NJ, and live near NYC........ Temps can be all.over the place and typically will.average 80-85......buout yocould get a day in.the upper 70's or lower 90's and humidity at that time of.the year but being near the shore you will.most likely have sea breezes in.the afternoon which will.feel.good but if you are still on the bike could slow you down. What will the temperatures be like ? |
