Hello all, I was thinking of getting a Park Tool rack for use with my Cervelo P2. Are these things compatible? The Cervelo has a wide blade-like seatpost and the frame and seatpost are both carbon. How do you hook these style bikes up to the tool rack? Thanks!

I assume you're asking about a Work Stand. I put mu P2 on a Part Tool work stand - the gripper clamp rotates so you just clamp onto the top tube.

I have a work stand with a similar style clamp, it works on aero seat posts; the clamp sides are V shaped

It's carbon, not egg shell.  You will be fine with any tool stand.  Use a towel or something if you are worried about scratches....but you're not going to crush the carbon frame unless you try to.

this is true... but if you do something stupid one time it would be a lot easier to replace the seat post vs the frame.  wrapping a towel or something around it is also a good idea and something i do with my white bike to prevent getting visible scuffs

It holds my Trek Speed Concept. The jaws open wide enough to hold it by the seat tube. Or by the top tube, as was mentioned.

Get a work stand that clamps the fork instead, like the Park Tools PRS20. Don't have to worry about over clamping and much more stable that when you clamp on seatpost or feame

x3. Own it, love it, good for my P3 Tri bike and my Willier GranTurismo road bike. Easiest stand to work with by far.

I have a cannondale slice with a large aero seat tube. I tried the clamp style stands and did not like them for my carbon bike. I looked around a lot and got a feedback sprint stand. Its similar to the park 20 and 21 stand in that it clamps to the fork. I would recomend this type of stand personally.

I use the regular Park Tool Repair stand PCS-10 for my P2, and other bikes and it works fine.

But do be careful not to over clamp the top tube on the P2c because you can crush it ..I believe.

Unfortunately the lighter clamp pressure will cause the bike frame to move somewhat.

One thing I like about the regular clamp stand, over the dropout type, is I can check out both wheels easily.

  • .. also works well for my roadie, and MTB bikes.

  • As suggested the stand that supports via the dropouts might be a better idea overall.

At first I thought, "Oh boy, what a mistake!" Let’s face it, I could barely run half a mile, I had not swum in forever, and my biking skills were not great, to say the least.

This article estimates how much time can be saved in sprint races by converting from stock aero wheels found on most tri bikes to more aero disk and composite spoked wheels.

A bike is NOT a piece of metal with a couple of wheels at either end and a steering thing to stop you running over old ladies. No! ... a bike is a space-age “weapon of mass confusion.”

My sister warned me about being used as a launch ramp by faster swimmers but much to my surprise I was the one swimming over those in front of me. I went around one woman, then another.
