Champion 7821 Brooklyn, NY | Subject: RE: Kiss Kiss I didn't really read anything weird into it. They've known each other forever, and things got a little rough but it was all in the spirit of the game. i interpreted Taurasi's kiss as "I know I just bumped you hard, but you know I don't mean anything by it and we're still cool". I don't think it was trash-talking at all-- just the opposite. It sort of reminded me of the way a boxer will hold out his glove and touch gloves with his opponent after inadvertantly throwing a low blow low or head-butt. The one who threw the punch is saying, "It wasn't intentional-- sorry" and the opponent, in returing the touch is saying, "It's ok-- it's part of the game". The kiss was definitely more...intimate, but I think it's a reflection of their personal relationship that goes back to their childhoods. Their comments were just poking fun at what a big deal everyone else is making of it. |

I don't own a TV, and I don't particularly enjoy watching sports on TV, but I have seen a couple WNBA games in the last year (at a bar), and those women can play. I was impressed. It bums me out they don't have more of a following. Edited by switch 2013-09-27 11:20 AM |

Seattle | Subject: RE: Kiss Kiss Ha I was watching that game and was like, "ooooh they gonna fight! Oh wait. What?"
It was definitely DT just kinda playin' around, which is nice to see her simmer down a bit. She is usually sooo feisty! DT and Lauren Jackson DID used to date, but I didn't get some impression she was making some advance on SA.
*I thought Sue Bird's reaction was kind of weird in post game though. Dunno if anyone saw that. Edited by Asalzwed 2013-09-27 1:05 PM |

I Know. Sucks. They're really good, and I think they're fun to watch, and not just when they kiss The way I initially read that I thought it was if you offer someone a $20 bill AND front row seats OR just a $20 bill, they will take the $20. Which may be funnier, but probably also true. As for the smootch? Weird, but nothing to get worked up about. Edited by Kido 2013-09-27 1:11 PM |

Champion 6993 Chicago, Illinois | Subject: RE: Kiss Kiss honestly I probably like watching the WNBA more than NBA anyways. I am just not into all that showtime anymore. I am just not big into watching sports anymore that is not a marathon or triathlon. Edited by chirunner134 2013-09-27 1:17 PM |

Yes, but in a capitalist system, it's what people want to watch and "buy". There are TONS of things that "should" be around. Music and debate programs in school, healthier food options, educational programing... But people want/pay for Football, McDonalds, and Duck Dynasty. Until more people want to plunk down hard earned money for a WNBA game, it will struggle. The "right" thing aint always the popular thing. |
