3200m of swimming this PM. The hard stuff was a struggle--think I'm still tired from the weekend. Plus pool is record-settingly cold--it's the only time I can remember that I even felt cold doing a hard 400m. Wondering if it's a plot to keep the kids from dallying during workouts!

Day 1 of my new plan (again...). 3rd times a charm to stay focused and keep from getting injured due to, well, training stupidly. Today 1400m in pool.

Rest day after this weekend's back-to-back long runs, and coaching flag football with the 8 year olds.

Bit of a recovery day.  Dog sitting not too far from work and it's a slight downhill so my ride into the office this morning was:

5.5 miles w/ a 27mph average.  That was fun

4 mile run at lunch

Short ride back home this evening and maybe another 3 or 4 mile run tonight.

The cause of the sleeplessness could be anxiety to get out and compete but more often than not the inability to sleep is a fear of what might happen, of what might go bump out on the race course.

I got a new pair of the same size / brand of shoes and started running on them. On my left foot, the toe next to the big toe starts to get a little painful and goes numb after the first 1-3 miles.
