Guys

I am looking for a more economical Citrus Degreaser to clean my bike chain, other than parktool which
is ridiculously expensive. I have been researching and wondering if any of you tried
ZEP Citrus Degreaser? its way cheaper than parktool. If you have other alternatives
let me know.

thanks

I have used this exclusively for about 4 years. Get it at Home Depot. I'll take the chain off and soak while cleaning other parts, then scrub it with a toothbrush. Every so often remove the cassette and do the same.

I've only bought the gallon, never used the spray. I use it full strength for the chain and parts. You can reuse it - put some in a flat container with a lid and you can clean your chain multiple times.

I always felt that citrus/orange degreasers leave, well, a greasy residue.   Or SOME kind of film.  They never seem to wash away clean.  Maybe I don't dilute it enough.  I stopped using them for that reason.  I'll use the bike clean/lube sprays from my LBS or the same ones I use on my motorcycle chain.

They key is: Take the parts off of the bike. You can easily, inadvertent tilt degrease the hub bearings and ruin your wheels if you spray degreaser onto the wheel set.

I also like the citrus stuff from HD and it works fine.
