Fellows above:

Just one small thing I noticed there are races that are :

PADDLE + BIKE + RUN

Is this still considered as triathlon? Or just an adventure race?

Just curious.

Thanks

That's an adventure race and they also require orienteering skills. They are a lot of fun and can be very taxing because they start at 3 hours and get up to 72hrs+. Fitness is only a small part of that sport and old men win quite regularly. I've done 5 AR with Pangea in Florida. A lot of fun. Oh,most are team sports with two to four people. Rarely see single racers.

Thanks i guess a little bit time consuming . I think ill stick with Xterra Tri this seems to be simple enough. Just need to finish my last race first week of Nov. then ill start training . We only have one organizer for Xterra Tri in Texas and have 5 X-Tri a year.

Thanks again.

There are a few Xterras around here that are paddle/bike/run. They just replace the swim with a kayak session. Looks like fun. Dunno about the one by you though...

A Walmart bike, a borrowed road bike or a new carbon fiber bike? You don't need to break the bank for your first triathlon bike.

Immediately I felt attracted by the challenge. I have done plenty of biking this summer and a new motivation, particularly toward the end of the summer, was what I needed.

The XTERRA off-road triathlons consist of a lake swim, a mountain bike trail ride, and a trail run. I decided to try the AZ Xtreme Desert XTERRA Tri as my 1st off-road triathlon, and my 3rd tri ever.
