Thanks D00d and captn. WHAT an EPIC day.

3+ hours on a mtn bike followed by a 11.5 ish trail run made for an interesting day. This race and distance definately tested my patience, that's for sure. That part of Arkansas has some awesome singletrack trails which made for a thoroughly enjoyable day. It made you forget that you were racing, the trails were that much fun.

My travel buddies Ken had a strong day as well, Owen was in top shape as usual but Jim cut a tire, 1 mile into the sprint course and ended up being a great sherpa (but he drank all the beer in the cooler and ate all the chips while we were on course).

Sounds like fun! I'm trying to line up my race schedule for next year and it looks like this area doesn't have many xterra's to choose from like there are on the other side of the Mississippi.

Immediately I felt attracted by the challenge. I have done plenty of biking this summer and a new motivation, particularly toward the end of the summer, was what I needed.

My 1st triathlon, Xterra and the mess I made of myself. This wasn’t your regular triathlon, it was off-road.

Although you can receive all of your vitamins and minerals through foods eaten in the diet, nutritional products used for training may not allow you to meet recommendations on a daily basis.

This is not an easy task, especially for the “9-to-5er” with family. But you can do it – all without sacrificing your marriage, job or family.

The XTERRA off-road triathlons consist of a lake swim, a mountain bike trail ride, and a trail run. I decided to try the AZ Xtreme Desert XTERRA Tri as my 1st off-road triathlon, and my 3rd tri ever.

Byrn won’t hold your hand through the long hours and miles required finishing or for success in an IM, he can only show you how to get there. The work is up to you.
