Pre-race routine:

I am coming from work again and worked busy all night , but i have enough strength for two hours , just enough for the race. At work i ate a clif bar banana and a bottle of gatorade
Event warmup:

My best warn-up was running across the street carrying my bag and bike to transition and they would not let me in gladly the RD saw me and let me in transition. It was raining a bit. I was already in my swim mode when they told me swim is cancelled due to suspected lightning strikes.

Comments:

I forgot my garmin so i dont really know how fast i am going i just gave everything i can. I dont feel complete since the swim is cancelled.I just want to finish this . It was raining a bit and I can see ahead of me are all Athenas, I can already tell ill pass by them easy, then i remembered they are my wave group newbie/clyde/Athena. Instead of passing them "on ur left" I would say "we can do it!" , "We are getting there!" "You're looking Good!" "It's ok" riding on the rain is not exactly easy makes a racer hold back and easy. Finally last five miles. I still played it safe . I finished the bike leg no accidents. I passed by atleast 5 flats and 0 crashes thats good.!!
What would you do differently?:

nothing probably next time i would attached lights and reflectors to my bike since its dim. Dont forget my Garmin next time.
Transition 2
  • 01m 13s
Comments:

I have yet to master this to finish under 1 minute.
What would you do differently?:

learn flying dismount. atleast get off from shoes.
Run
  • 30m 11s
  • 3 miles
  • 10m 04s  min/mile
Comments:

I was slow this time by 1:30 this i could have been faster. I was running along then again i passed by newbies and i encouraged them to saying "Can't stop now" "Keep Going" . Its really hard to run without my garmin so i know i can still close my eyes and push it. Until eventually finish line.!!!!
What would you do differently?:

Dont forget my garmin , give one more last push.
Post race
Warm down:

walking around ate fruits and drank water.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

lack of sleep and rest since i am coming from work, slow transition time.

Event comments:

This is actually my slowest sprint and i could have done better if all the elements i needed pre-race which were all can be attributed to my decisions. I am the one who decided to race after work. RD already gave me slack by letting come to transition late. I ate a few said hi to friends i found there and left i am tired and i wanted to go to sleep since i am working the night after the race.

I am surprised when the result came out that i am ranked one in my group division.
Woot! Woot! i did average at best and i got a trophy.!!!
