Thank you to all of you who responded.  It helps me feel a little better.

The day after I run my first Ultra 50 mile (signed up back in April before I knew anything about the cancer) is the wake.  My best friend (who's brother died from cancer last year) accepted to be my sherpa on race day, and then said he would drive me the 3 plus hours back across the state to go to the wake and then drive the 3 hours back home later that day.  I owe big time.

So sorry for your loss.

It sounds like your sister was the epitome of grace and strength throughout her treatment/diagnosis.

Some good things rose from this:
1). I believe my sister heard me asking for strength several times during the Ultra 50 mile the day before her wake this past Sat. and I did complete the race.
2). I met a number of relatives that I haven't seen in over 30 years, and connected back with 2 of my sisters.

However, I will be out of work for the rest of this week due to some medical issue that decided to appear at the same time this weekend - the physical continuous pain won't subside, and I may have to go in for an emergency minor operation.

Be good, everyone, and don't forget those hugs and such.
