Sunny
Total Time = 16h 14m 29s
Overall Rank = 2578/2891
Age Group = 35-39
Age Group Rank = 350/373
Pre-race routine:

Ate 2 Pop Tarts & Banana with a few sips of Diet Coke (for caffeine) and a small bottle of Gatorade.
Event warmup:

Walked to Transition from Condo to drop off Spec Needs bags and setup bike nutrition and then finally put on wetsuit and got in the water just before the start. Just got wet and got my face in the water.
Swim
  • 1h 34m 54s
  • 3800 meters
  • 02m 30s / 100 meters
Comments:

Swim was a mob...couldn't really swim, just had to fight for every inch of water.
What would you do differently?:

Maybe get further away from the mob and try to find water
Transition 1
  • 12m 4s
Comments:

Took my time, maybe too much but wanted to get as much salt and sand off my body as poss before hitting the bike...a couple min's here didn't hurt my day so no prob
What would you do differently?:

prob nothing
Bike
  • 7h 13m 37s
  • 112 miles
  • 15.50 mile/hr
Comments:

I took the bike easy, esp on the front end, stopped a couple times. I could've pushed the bike much harder but what would've happened to my marathon??? Who knows
What would you do differently?:

Push harder through the headwind??? Maybe...Maybe Not
Transition 2
  • 13m 24s
Comments:

Had to collect myself and prepare for what would be a death march here so I dunno what I could've done any diff.
What would you do differently?:

Prob nothing
Run
  • 7h 00m 30s
  • 26.2 miles
  • 16m 03s  min/mile
Comments:

This was a death march...all I can say. I wasn't able to train for this marathon at all due to my back surgery. I walked alot and was finally able to jog on the treadmill a little a couple weeks out from the race but that was obviously too little too late by that point. This was just pure guts and determination to get to the end of this leg.
What would you do differently?:

TRAIN!!!!! You can't fake a marathon!!!
Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster:

Not being able to run train!

Event comments:

Great Race! Great Spectator support! Awesome Finish Chute Atmosphere! Best in the Land!
