It's embarrassing how hard this made me laugh. Surely my fellow geeks can post a few more?

It's the little things in life.

BTW, I don't get it ...even after Googling.

Isn't that more nerd humor than geek humor? Just saying.

Number two is awesome. My thesis advisor was born in Ireland on St. Patty's Day. Every year he would shut down the lab and he'd break out the Bushmills and we'd get heavily impaired. Favorite memory was searching for a missing first year grad student, only to find him curled up in the stairwell using a biohazard waste bag as a pillow.

Unfortunately this is well before we all had cell phones with cameras. He did take some serious abuse for that. And now he's a university professor

That did make me laugh. Engineering jokes, always a good time. I had a control systems professor in college who had a semi inappropriate joke about Eigenvalues. He love telling it

Here's one of my favorite animated Dilbert cartoons:

I hope he has grad students to whom you can tell this story.

Triathlon serves up many humbling moments. The most humbling of days came not during a race day but by email. I had been invited to participate in the Rambling Rose Women’s Only Triathlon. Wow.

Don't worry, you can't do anything that hasn't been done before. Read this article for some humorous insights of one triathlete's introduction to the sport.
