Subject: RE: Pinched nerve neck/shoulder Okay, here's my experience, so take it for what it's worth..
I ended up with two bulging disks in 2010 which were pinching a nerve. I ignored the problem and it got much worse (to the point of one rupture ). Had I been smarter about things, I could have done PT from the start and probably got them settled back into place. But instead, I sought advice from the internet, continued to train, blew out a disk and began to lose feeling/use of my right arm. This was fixed with surgery (I had the two disks removed and part of my neck fuzed together ) and I'm back in the game after over 2 years of no exercise.. It sucked. It sucked bad. I'll never be able to ride in aero position as my neck doesn't have a lot of flexibility.
So, my advice is to talk with both an Orthopedic specialist and a Physical Therapist. Get a CT scan so you know exactly what you're dealing with instead of speculating. If required, I would recommend beginning proper (and supervised ) treatment ASAP so it doesn't turn into something much much worse.
So that's my 2 cents and I wish you the best of luck!
