Subject: Princeton 70.3 ??
I was at a town meeting and it seems a bike 56 mile bike course has been proposed to go through town. I believe they referred to it as the "Princeton 70.3." Cannot confirm it is a WTC race but where else would a bunch of politicians hear, then use a term like that.
I know the course and ride it regularly it is a beutiful course once you get 10-12 miles out of town and into horse country. Some nice hills with sweeping turns to keep it honest and lots of flats to open up on and ruin your run. From where it starts the swim sounds like it will be in Lake Mercer. Where the NJ state Triathlon is held. That is a top notch ran race , so this should be well organized. Anywho sounds as if it is a new 70.3

Yes there are some rumors that this will be a CGI race like the NJ State. Guess they are still working out the approvals before it's announced. Was it mentioned when the race would be held?

Anybody know when to expect a definitive yes or no on whether this is a go or not? Looking to do my first 70.3 next year and Princeton is about 30 mins from my house. This would be absolutely perfect. Could actually sleep in my own bed the night before

CGI and they put on a GREAT race! And no I am not related to or work for them - just your average athlete that has raced various venues and race directors

Pure speculation, but I presume all responses would be.Though not a full IM, I think this will sell out very fast but not imaz fast. Other than eagleman this is the only im branded race in area with a lot of racers around. Many of these same people need to travel a long way to get the I'm branded experience. Plus this race company CGI is very familiar to them as well as the course is familiar( nj state tri) and it will be a forgiving course.Hard to say exact time put if I were a betting man I would put the over under at 45 days.....but speculation

After much consideration and too much thinking - I have decided to step up to my first 1/2. For Pete's sake it won't get any closer. Wish it wasn't the end of Sept - will need a wetsuit - but I do have one...

Right there with you. I've been back and forth the last 2 years about doing one and now within running distance from my house there's no excuse!
