Champion 6503 NOVA - Ironic for an Endurance Athlete | Subject: Female IM Finishers Only I want to make a photo album for my wife, commemorating her finish. Is there an easy way to do it online? Or should I go old fashioned and print the photos myself and put it together?
Thanks! |

Subject: RE: Female IM Finishers Only I think a photo book would be really nice for her. It is not hard to do and can be quick if you don't get carried away looking at every different page layout or background choice . Upload your photos to Walgreens photo, shutterfly or whichever online photo place you use. Choose create photo book then just drop in your photos. Here is a link to Walgreens so you can check it out: http://photo2.walgreens.com/walgreens/storepage/storePageId=MemoryBooks |

Extreme Veteran 646 | Subject: RE: Female IM Finishers Only I don't have a good suggestion for software, but I love the idea! I will say that if my husband put together an old fashioned book of prints, I'd love it. mainly because I know he would enjoy making it. Have fun, and congratulations on your wife's IM finish! |

Thanks! This is a question that both non-females and non-IM finishers can answer. I recently made an awesome album from vacation pictures at mypublisher.com. It was super easy and the quality was great. There are often groupons for my publisher and shutterfly. I tend to thing the walgreens/walmart photos are not as nice quality. |

I am a recovering sexist, but I know that from my perspective, I'd like the professionally made album. I thought that women may prefer the homemade touch. I cannot ask my wife, as I'd like it to be a surprise. |

Pro 5169 Burbs | Subject: RE: Female IM Finishers Only I don't know if a photo book is best, because you can't add things like the actual bib number, swim cap, etc. I recommend a shadow box with photos, her medal, swim cap, bib number, etc. I made one for myself after my IM and love it ... can post a photo when I get home if you want to see it, Mike ! |

Use Shutterfly or Mixbook. My friend used Shutterfly and I used Mixbook. Both are good.

Sensei Sin City | Subject: RE: Female IM Finishers Only The wife (she has more patience and drive to do it) has put together albums of all sorts (Honeymoon, trips, "this is your life" type) using Shutterfly (and maybe a couple others). She will lock herself in the office for a week and go through all the options and layouts and they always turn out great. If I hear something different, I'll let you know. |

I think the OP point was how would it be received, not who can help him put one together - kind of like, which color sheets are the most pleasing, what would you think of a Mohawk, etc. -- the guys may think camo sheets and a Mohawk are awesome - women. not so much. |

If he uses one of those services they have template books already created. You select a template and drop your pictures in. Now, you do need various pictures to drop them in to see what fits in the space provided and which ones don't. |

Sensei Sin City | Subject: RE: Female IM Finishers Only Update. Picaboo is another service that we have used. Just upload pictures, pick a template, and drag/drop. You can do some pretty cool things. |

Champion 7704 Williamston, Michigan | Subject: RE: Female IM Finishers Only Shutterfly is super easy and inexpensive as the others have said and they produce a quality item. As a FEMALE IM finisher IMHO get her some jewlery to comemorate it. Big Island Jewlers has super nice stuff, however they are expensive. Ironman has comeout with charms for a pandora style bracelet or check out Milestons jewlery. OR you could do both the album and the jewlery |

Pro 5169 Burbs | Subject: RE: Female IM Finishers Only I'm sure this isn't WTC sanctioned, but my sister took a picture of the mDot to a jeweler she knew and had him make me a charm necklace (a LOT cheaper than Big Island jewelry!) |
