Day 11 - 6 miles in relatively clear skies and 28 degrees. After the initial shock of getting outside and catching your breath, it's probably my favorite weather to run in besides perfect 65-70 degrees at night.

30 is just a little bit colder than perfect running weather! We had a day earlier this week in the 40s and it was lovely. actually 30 isn't bad either, if there is no wind. I've been lucky so far- I'm sure I'm due for some bad weather running soon!

Hat's off to anyone here braving the cold weather with your runs! I lived up north for a long while, and did so...but my lungs ached the whole time.

I am good through yesterday (Sunday was #133). 4 miles Friday, 2 Saturday, 2 Sunday.

The day I am worried about is December 29th, as it looks like I will be on a flight at 7AM to California. Will require a very very early outdoor run or a run right after midnight.

You could do like DC Rainmaker style and do a run around the airport or something insane like he's always doing.

1 mile of pure ice. It rained/snowed earlier today and everything froze over by the time I got out there. I was half walking and hoping I didn't fall. If it all melts and freezes again tonight I don't know what I'm going to do. Well, besides find the time to go buy some Yak Trax.

Maybe once I retire my current shoes. I'd like to make it through this winter with them. I think I have an old pair hanging around that I may try that on though.

Tuesday - #135 - 5.5 miles speed work intervals. Absolutely brutal, as I met my buddy for an all you can eat pizza buffet which we left only about 4 hours before I started my workout. Ugh. Did an easy 90 minutes on the trainer when I got home too (Trainer Road - Fletcher). Gotta try to fight the holidays.

You guys rock. I came down with a nasty cold and it's just icy snow crap out so I've been sloooooow 1 mile per day. Might hit the gym at lunch to get a couple actual miles in.

Shoe Question!!!

I have mizuno wave rider 16s, and my older shoes are asics fortitude 5s. I have the chance to get some new asics at a discount- what is comparable to the fortitudes in their newer styles? I’ve lost about 45 pounds since I got those so I’m no longer a “big” runner. Any recommendations?

3.15 very cold miles this morning.

I have nothing to add about Mizuno's and Asics. I just took my second run with my second pair of Nike 3.0's and I adore them. I expect to have at least one pair in my rotation until they quit making them.

yeah, I can't wear Nike's- they tend to run narrow, and I do not have a narrow foot. My husband loves them and will wear nothing else.

Got my1  mile in just in the nick of time at 11 pm last night - CRAZY day, It's that time of the year. It was nice to look at all the Christmas lights running while most were nestled all tucked in their beds. Hopefully will get in a long one today.

The boat was being tossed around. Someone noted that there were whitecaps on the waves. Another guy said, “This is going to be challenging.” I began to wonder what he meant by 'challenging'.
