Got in one mile before diner last night. Will do the same tonight. I am becoming a one-a-day person during the week.

I'm just amazed at everyone with their streaks. My miles have been ugly, at best. My son came down with something, which of course my wife and I both caught (the joys of a 2 year old), then between work and it being all of 8F out at night I just haven't had it in me to go past the minimum. I'm sure this is common for those of you streaking for months and months at a time, it just happens at some point regardless of how well you plan, so for those that battle through it, great work. Looks like 6+" of snow this weekend so it's not going to make getting outdoors any easier.

The streaks are tough at times. I'm not in the slightest bit a morning person, but I've found myself out running at 4:50AM a few times when I have known my day isn't going to allow it.

To be fair, I am *not* a winter person either, so I do 95% of my current running indoors on a treadmill. That is also slightly related to plantar fascitis issues, which seem to have been minimized by treadmill running honestly. But there are going to be a few days coming up that will be a struggle, in which my gym won't open early enough so I may be outside running at 5AM in a foot of fresh snow. I'm committed to getting through it, but I almost wouldn't recommend it. The streak is consuming.

And trust me, for *anyone* on a long run streak, there are plenty of days where you trudge out the minimum and aren't even sure you're going to get through that. I'm approaching 20 straight weeks (this Sunday), and I can tell you it's only been in the last 2 months that I've really been consistently higher in mileage. I've never been a natural runner, so this has been a massive adjustment for me. It's coming a lot easier now, but wow, was it tough at times. And I have no doubt that there will be many times coming up where I fall back to the absolute minimum to keep it going.

Good luck, and keep on pushing!

I find that streaks take on an inevitability; I know I'll get today's mile done, I just have to decide when. When is a much more empowering word than if. It also helps to have someone whose streak is about 12 hours older than yours.

There's also no shame in admitting when life or injury has conspired to ruin your streak. You figure out what went wrong, make sure you're healthy, and you start the next streak.

No lie, I am looking forward to January 2.

I have to say, I'm not looking froward to it, because then I have an excuse not to run. I may continue to streak just because it keeps me honest in my running, cause when you push a run back one day, it's easier to push back another and suddenly you are back on the couch! (Or at least I am!)

Got my long run (4 miles) in today despite the cold and snow- we had 6 inches overnight, and the roads weren't all that clear. Slippery and snowy, but I did it!

The snow finally derailed me. I had been at least running the minimum whether it was in the basement or really quick at work, but the snow and shoveling all day did it to me. I still got a bike ride in, but no run. I'm waiting for the holidays to end before picking up the YakTrax, so once I get those on my shoes I can brave the ice and snow. Awesome work everyone keeping with it.

*sadly, I was a bit slower tonight, because it was cold out...cold for Florida.
I can't breathe well in colder weather...but, that's ok. It was a steady pace run, which is what I aiming for, anyway.
