I did the Oly on Sunday and was happy with my performance. Transition in a different part of the parking lot as well as the finish chute. The bike was definitely faster this year albeit a bit shorter; roughly 21 miles I think. The run was flatter than last year, but still sort of tough since it felt like the first mile I was running uphill. That made it a bit difficult to dial in my pace. There were still the grassy and muddy areas which was somewhat expected.

Overall I believe they have made improvements and my hope is they will continue to do so. I did hear some complaints about the run course not being adequately marked, but I didn't have a problem with it.

It's relatively close to home, easy to find parking, and not too congested. I would say this is also a good beginner/introduction to triathlon event since there is a Sprint option.

I posted my race report. They are on the right track with this race. The bike course was a huge improvement from last year. I had no issues following the run course and thought it was well marked. They might modify it again next year when they finish up whatever they are doing over in the little lake.

I did the Oly as well. Missed AG Podium by 1 second..... bummer.

I liked everything about the race. Nice swim, good bike, and a challenging and varying surface run. My only complaint was the lack of bathrooms. I know there were 3 stalls in the men's room, but they needed port-a-potties. Those three stalls were packed with people all trying to hit it before the start of the race. Other than that, I have no real complaints.

On a side note - sighting on the swim back into the beach was TOUGH with the sun. I forgot my reflective goggles so I swam with clear. That was brutal.

I have Bontrager Race Lite wheels. I was looking into renting Zipp 303's or 404's for race day for Ironman Lake Placid. What time will I save?

My expectations for the quality of this years’ Triathlon world championship were fulfilled. This was because of the superb location that is like no other along with having the top triathletes present.
