Just starting to hear about this new race, looks like a pretty good venue. I think the original website was talking about 23 June and now it seems the main website is showing 15 June. http://rev3tri.com/williamsburg/news-va/

Waited to long to sign up for the Raleigh 70.3 and now it is sold out, guess I will have to go to Williamsburg! Anybody raced up there?

This was a first year race in 2013. I didn't race there, but just read many of the horror stories about logistical challenges. Seems like the race was not handled nearly as well as Raleigh 70.3 was. Kind of interesting considering both races were new this year and both were point to point races.

Interesting. Maybe this year they will iron out some of the issues. Logistical issues with transport to the swim starts and transition areas? Issues with post race equipment recovery? Just finished the B2B full with point to point swim and bike and it was very well done. It did seem like a lot of pieces had to come together to make it all work though.

Didn't race the REV3 this year, but I did the Patriots half in September as well as Raleigh 70.3. Patriots was a much smaller event, long distance form swim to T1, 58 mile bike and a two loop run. Very flat and fast. Less $$$ than an IM branded event
There's plenty to do in Williamsburg after the race.

I enjoyed both races and will be doing the Patriots again this fall.

Just signed up for the REV3 in Williamsburg and it was about 260$. Not much different from the IM Raleigh I did last year, so hopefully this will be organized well for everybody!

Yeah, hopefully they'll make improvements from last year.

My wife ran the OLY and my cousin ran the full while I spectated with our little ones. The venue is great and hotels options are great as well. The race organization was lacking for sure but I'm bet they make major improvements in the second year. Specifically, the shuttle situation and the bag pick up was a total mess but both are fixable.

And don't expect to find a flat course. Rolling hills on the bike and a big hill on the run course which you'll have to climb at least twice.

Raced the REV3 Half last year and really enjoyed it. The new bike course is a lot of fun, maybe even a little faster then last year. Hopefully this year we wont have to swim against the current..
