Run
Comments: I started out strong, but Pete eventually caught up and finished 6 seconds behind me. I had no idea I placed 2nd AG until we looked at the results later in the day! James finished in 34:56. He's not big into running, but he HAS gotten into Spartan racing. He has completed all three Spartan distances this year. Not my necessarily forte', but it is a race and if he can do it, I can do it! So I'll be racing a Spartan race with my son in March. Let ole mom demonstrate how it is done! Post race
Warm down: After the race, we went to the Cheesecake Factory for dinner and drinks (no, I did not eat cheesecake) but I did drink a couple of Angry Orchard Hard Ciders! (Hiccup)! It was so good to see my son and race with him. I hope we can do that more often! (even if it is Spartan) What limited your ability to perform faster: Laying around eating and drinking since my last triathlon! Event comments: Fun Halloween race! Last updated: 2013-09-16 12:00 AM

Pete and I spent last night in Wilmington after watching our teammates race the Beach2Battleship Half and Full. So this morning, after breakfast in Wilmington, we drove straight to Raleigh.
USS North Carolina!
We went to packet pickup, then browsed some of the shops while waiting for my son to arrive from Rocky Mount. Then we went back to packet pickup with him and to the truck to get dressed and ready. Pete and I were dressed as Cavemen and my son was dressed as a Mad Scientist. I jogged around the block to see if the big clunky necklace was going to be a bother, and it was. But I wore it anyway.
