I've had a few people ask me what my camera set up is, so I figure I'll just share it here with everyone.  These are commercial cameras so they're a little more pricey than what you find at Sams club, but my company sells them so I was able to buy them wholesale.

I have three Vivotek FD8362E Model cameras attached to the soffet on my house.  They're powered by a POE switch in my basement and have home run Cat 5 cable to each camera.  For storage I have a small PC that's just running Windows 7 with the free Vivotek ST7501 software.
The cameras usually retail for around $600 ea.

Vivotek has a lot of different camera choices, but most of the "outdoor" models are on the more expensive side.
Here's their full list:

The cool part of the cameras is they're IP based so you can view any of them realtime from your cellphone and I get email alerts any time motion is detected at any entrance.

Lead story on the 10:00 news.

They aired a much longer clip, but cut my interview out on the internet version.

The coolest part of this whole thing is the police telling the victims that they would have never caught these guys if it weren't for the video footage.  I know, just what I need;  More encouragement to be a nerd.

Tony I got a picture of someone trying to rob your house the other day:

Blargh. Didn't work.

Just FYI - they didn't help Scarface.

Geez, what is the media coming to these days. Can't even proof read an article before posting.

Fixed it for 'em.

OMAHA, Neb. —A vigilantE neighbor's home surveillance system helped Douglas County deputies catch one of two home burglary suspects.

Investigators contacted Tony Underwood after someone stole TVs and other items from his neighbor in Falcon Ridge near 180th and Harrison streets. Authorities saw his camera and hoped it recorded enough to help out.

"First thing that I thought was that I said a little prayer, 'Please let it be working and recording,'" Underwood said.

Tony, for those of us not in the security cam biz, do you have any recommendations for an inexpensive setup?

Awesome! I'm sure your neighbors LOVE you! Really great stuff!

The three drills we will be focusing on today are a more “advanced” version of catch-up, which help you with distance per stroke AND keep you rotating from side to side (hip rotation).
