Swim
  • 35m 38s
  • 1200 meters
  • 02m 58s / 100 meters
Comments:

Bouyes moved, and i got off course in the first round. Still think the measured distance must have been longer than the official 1200m, I did 1650m...
What would you do differently?:

Sight better from the start!
Transition 1
  • 04m
Comments:

Ok for being first time. Surprised it took so long, it felt faster.
What would you do differently?:

Practice more. Was still thinking about what to do.
Bike
  • 1h 11m
  • 35 kms
  • 29.58 km/hr
Comments:

Probably went too fast. Drafting was allowed.
What would you do differently?:

Go a bit easier
Transition 2
  • 02m
Comments:

Smooth
What would you do differently?:

Not sure about my idea of taking gel in the transitions. Takes time. Same with the electrolytes
Run
  • 56m 39s
  • 8.5 kms
  • 06m 40s  min/km
Comments:

Warm! Legs too stiff after bike leg. Distance was longer than the official 8.5km, It was 9.4km
What would you do differently?:

Train BRICK!
Post race
Warm down:

Did nothing, just tried not to sit immediately. Drank a lot

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Not enough training. Inexperienced in what pace to keep at bike vs run for optimal performance.

Event comments:

A lot of people swam too short, did not go to the second buoy, yet noone were disqualified. Water very shallow, a lot of wading in the beginning and at between round 1 and 2.

Bike part ok, but with traffic.
Run leg ok.

Very hot!

Congrats!  It's a PR.

Courses are often off by a little bit in distance, but a buoy moving can really play with your head.  Great job just grinding through.

Looks like a nice course from the pics!

Welcome to tri!

Thanks a lot!
Yeah, I feel like a new person having done my first tri

The course was nice and probably the best there could be for beginners, since it was all flat and not too crowded.

My first triathlon was at age 56. At first I was just the cameraman at my daughter's first triathlon, then I am doing the races that she has done.

Knowing where the fluids are, how they will fit on your bike, how much to reach for, and when to reach for it should be understood prior to ever setting foot on the course.
